For those members of SEMTA that are finishing their PhDs, one potential choice for continuing in academia is to apply for postdoctoral research fellowships. In some countries, this is becoming almost essential to land into a faculty job. Being awarded a competitive fellowship shows that you have good ideas, that you can write good proposals, that you can attract funding, and that you have been selected among a big pool of applicants.

The following website has a link to funding opportunities across the world:

asntech.github.io/postdoc-funding-schemes/

It is the most complete that I've found so far. If any SEMTA PhD students would like to discuss opportunities in the UK, please drop me an e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Best of luck!
